Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website nannieschiangmai.com and the nanny placement and childcare services provided by Nannies Chiang Mai ("we", "us", "our"). By submitting a request through our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

Nannies Chiang Mai provides a nanny placement and childcare referral service. We connect families ("Clients") with vetted nannies and babysitters ("Nannies") in the Chiang Mai metropolitan area. Our services include:

  • Hourly babysitting
  • Full-day nanny placement
  • Coworking-space child watch
  • Newborn care specialist placement
  • School pickup and aftercare

We act as a placement service: we match, vet, and refer Nannies to Clients. The Nanny provides childcare services directly to the Client under the terms agreed at booking.

2. Booking and matching

  • Requests are submitted via the contact form on our website or by direct communication (email, WhatsApp, LINE).
  • We aim to respond within 24 hours and provide candidate profiles within 48 hours for recurring bookings, or the same day for hourly bookings where possible.
  • A free 30-minute meet & greet is offered before the first booking. The Client is not obligated to proceed if the match is not suitable.
  • We reserve the right to decline a request if we cannot safely meet the Client's needs.

3. Pricing and payment

  • Current pricing is published on our website. Prices may vary based on the child's age, number of children, hours required, and special needs.
  • Payment is due after each completed session, unless a recurring arrangement is agreed in writing.
  • Accepted payment methods: PromptPay (Thai bank transfer), international card, and Wise.
  • For hourly bookings, a minimum charge of 2 hours applies.
  • Cancellations within 4 hours of the scheduled start time incur a 50% charge. No-shows incur the full session charge.

4. Client responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about your children, including ages, medical conditions, allergies, and any special needs.
  • Ensure the Nanny has a safe working environment, including access to basic facilities.
  • Be present or reachable by phone during the booking period.
  • Provide any necessary instructions for emergencies, including emergency contacts and the nearest hospital.
  • Do not ask the Nanny to perform duties outside the scope of childcare (e.g., heavy cleaning, errands unrelated to the children) unless explicitly agreed.
  • Respect the Nanny's scheduled working hours and break times.

5. Vetting and safety

We vet all Nannies through the following process before they are added to our roster:

  • Identity verification (Thai national ID or passport)
  • Police clearance certificate
  • In-person interview with our founder
  • Reference checks with prior families
  • Verification of CPR/first-aid training (where applicable)

While we take all reasonable steps to ensure the quality and safety of our Nannies, we cannot guarantee the actions of any individual. Clients are encouraged to participate in the meet & greet and raise any concerns promptly.

6. Liability

  • Nannies Chiang Mai maintains third-party liability insurance covering active Nannies while on assignment.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of our services.
  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid by the Client for the specific booking giving rise to the claim.
  • We are not liable for loss or damage to personal property in the Client's home.
  • The Client is responsible for their own home insurance covering personal belongings.

7. Replacements and refunds

  • If a Nanny is unable to attend a scheduled booking, we will provide a replacement Nanny where possible.
  • If no replacement is available, the Client will not be charged for the cancelled session.
  • If the Client is dissatisfied with a Nanny's performance, we will investigate and, where justified, provide a replacement session at no charge.
  • Refunds for completed sessions are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Requests must be made within 48 hours of the session.

8. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep confidential all information shared during the course of the service, including family details, home addresses, children's information, and pricing. This obligation survives termination of the service engagement.

9. Code of care

Our Nannies adhere to the following code of care:

  • Never leave children unattended
  • Follow the Client's instructions regarding food, sleep, screen time, and discipline
  • Do not administer medication without the Client's explicit instructions
  • Do not invite guests to the Client's home
  • Do not use phones for personal purposes while actively caring for children
  • Report any incidents, injuries, or concerns to the Client and to Nannies Chiang Mai immediately

10. Termination

Either party may terminate a recurring booking arrangement with 7 days' written notice. Nannies Chiang Mai may immediately terminate services if:

  • The Client engages in abusive, threatening, or unlawful behaviour toward a Nanny
  • The Client breaches these Terms in a way that compromises safety
  • The Client fails to pay for services rendered

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Chiang Mai, Thailand, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection laws in the Client's jurisdiction.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
